John Terry punishment would be decided May 31st - UEFA

English club Chelsea are still savouring the joy of victory even though going back  into last night’s horn lock with Spanish side Barcelona will bring some bitter moments for the squad and one of it is the unjustifiable exit of the club captain John Terry.

John Terry has gotten a mandatory one-match ban and will also miss the May 19 which will be played in Munich either against Bayern or Real Madrid, a match which will be decide who will face Chelsea tonight.

Terry was red-carded 8 minutes to the end of the first half of the showdown and graciously the team went ahead to brush aside Barcelona with a 3-2 aggregate win.

What’s disturbing about the Terry’s sending off which was one of the major highpoints of last night as the likes of Branislav Ivanovic, Raul Meireles and Ramires because they already got three bookings each, is the UEFA disciplinary panel has said Terry’s action was a violent conduct and therefore they will be deciding his punishment which as rule allowed by UEFA can flow into the next season’s Champions League, Super Cup or Europa League as the case may be for Chelsea where Terry is the captain and the panel will be sitting May 31st.

In Champions League competition, once gameplay has passed the quarterfinals, yellow card waiver stops and that also applies to other European competitions too.
