A housewife, Hussaina Sani, 35, has alegedly killed her 66-year-old farmer husband, Sani Dan-Mamman, in Mujifa, Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State. Daily Sun learnt that Dan-Mamman had demanded an explanation from his second wife after he was given a meager lunch.
According to a source, the man had given his wife two measures of maize to prepare lunch for the family but the woman used half of the cereal for their meal.
Daily Sun also learnt that when the man suspected that his wife did not use all the cereal, there was a hot argument and latter a fight ensued between them.
“Frustration probably got better part of the wife as she took a piece of clay block and hurled it at her husband’s head,” a source who spoke on the condition of anonymity disclosed.
It was learnt that the man became furious because when he returned, he met a goat eating the maize he bought for their lunch.
Investigations revealed that the woman who attempted to escape after the man slumped and died was arrested by the police at their village, Mujifa, Katsina State.
“Husaina is cooling off her feet in a detention cell at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Katsina,” police spokesman, Shehu Mohammed Koko, ASP, who confirmed the report, said yesterday.
The incident occurred barely four days after a 55-year-old Isyaku Sani, allegedly smashed the head of his wife, Bikisu, with a stone weighing 50 kg.
Her crime? The woman did not prepare the Fura, a local Hausa food delicacy rich in cow milk, for the man before dawn to commence his fast.
It was also gathered that the woman died on the spot, around 2, 30 am, while the man was arrested by his neighbours, who handed him to the police.
The police imagemaker, who also confirmed the report, noted that the matter had since been charged to court.
