29-year-old lady, Halimot Saka slashed her boyfriend with razor after their relationship went sour

A 29-year-old lady, Halimot Saka, has allegedly slashed the side of her boyfriend, Mutiu Ganiyu, with razor after their relationship went sour.

Saka, who was arraigned on Wednesday before an Osogbo Magistrate’s Court, pleaded not guilty to the two counts of assault and breach of peace.

The incident, according to the charge sheet, occurred at Oke-Odo Testing Ground area of Osogbo, on April 16, 2012.

The charge sheet stated that the offence was punishable under Section 355, Cap 34, Laws of Osun State, 2003.

The accused’s lawyer, Mr. Najite Okobe, applied for her bail, saying she remained innocent until the contrary was proved in court.

Okobe assured the court that the accused would provide a credible surety and not jump bail.

The Magistrate, Mr. Olusola Aluko, admitted Saka to bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety, ordering that the surety must reside within Osogbo.

Meanwhile, the court has remanded three persons in Ilesa prison for allegedly stealing 11 chickens.

The accused are Yinusa Abideen (28), Sheriff Akinloye (32) and Rasheed Abideen (24).

The charge sheet stated that the accused also stole a milling machine worth N200, 000, among other items.

It stated that the chickens and the machine, which belonged to Alhaji Yisa Shittu, were stolen on July 14, 2011, at Odomu’s compound, Ede.

Two of the accused, Abideen and Akinloye, also allegedly stole two lorries with number plates XL332MUS and AQ 178 JBB valued at N6m at yam market in Ede.

The lorries, according to the charge sheet, belong to Alhaji Mukaila Ajibola and were reportedly stolen in October 2010 and August 22, 2011.

The accused were charged with conspiracy and stealing.

The 5th-count alleged that Abideen and Akinloye also stole one Cabstar model pick-up van with registration number XA 446 EDT worth N1.8m.

The van, which belonged to Alhaji Muniru Adewolu, was stolen on May 29, 2011, at Oko-Apena area, in Ede.

Lawyers to the accused persons, Mr. Babafemi Akande and Mr. Sola Ajayi, applied for their bail on the grounds that they remained innocent until the contrary was proved.

The prosecutor, Michael Imiavian, opposed the bail application on the grounds that Abideen had jumped bail last year.

Imiavian, a corporal, said Abideen returned to Ede this year – in the hope that the case would have been forgotten by the police.
