Paul Play, who is one of the celebrity judges of Star Quest, had a swell time as his fellow judges, Waje and KC, along with Gideon Okeke, show anchor, sang a special birthday song and presented him with a special birthday cake. But the icing on the cake was a special song that was rendered by Rosaline Okoh, one of the contestants. After impressing the judges and securing the all important ‘yes’ votes from them, Okoh requested to do the special birthday song for Paul. Her request was granted and she proceeded to dazzle the musician with her song. And obviously speechless, Paul left his seat to hug the petite singer for “making his birthday special”.
There was also a special appearance by singer, Omawunmi, who paid a visit to the National Theatre, venue of the audition. The event was also graced by The BEAT, winners of the 2011 edition of Star Quest.
Speaking on the surprise birthday bash, Paul Play expressed his gratitude thus: “I just want to say thank you to every one for this heart warming act. The judges, Gideon and the audience have been wonderful. I am humbled that they decided to honour me in this way. I am also surprised that Miss Okoh would do a song for me. She is a beautiful singer and she has all the prospects of going all the way in this competition. She made my birthday special.”
After moving from Makurdi to Enugu and Benin, the Lagos audition was the last leg of the Star Quest regional auditions.
